Lighthouse Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children 9th – 12th grade figure out what type of career they will be pursuing after graduation.


Overview: 


  Lighthouse Foundation is seeking a well-organized, effective individual that can serve as a point of contact in connecting potential independent school districts to the organization.  This particular role will be someone who has an outgoing personality, responsible, and advocates for the purpose of meeting students that don’t have a career plan for life after graduation from high school. In addition, this person will conduct outreach meetings with community members to bring back to the organization. Therefore, collaborate on working together to resolve issues and concerns with the youth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Relaying the foundation’s interests and working to further these through collaborative efforts. This includes promoting Lighthouse Foundation’s services for the purpose of maximizing opportunities.
•    Participate in various events and meetings for the purpose of representing Lighthouse Foundation.
•    Create monthly reports/logs for the purpose of tracking program activity and results.
•    Collect, analyze, and utilize data and feedback to identify opportunities to improve the relationship between the foundation and the other entities.
•    Develop and foster relationship and communication with leaders, faculty, staff, and parents of the school districts.
•    Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications: 
•    Education and/or Experience: An Associate’s Degree or Bachelor Degree in Education, Marketing, Political Science, and four years related experience required. May give credit towards years of experience if attained a degree higher than a Bachelor Degree. Nonprofit experience is a plus.
•    Knowledge of administering career-based programs, writing and evaluating career development curriculum, marketing, ability to use a laptop computer and the internet; public speaking, above average writing skills, and the ability to facilitate workshops and teach small and large groups.
•    Computer Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Power Point, Outlook and Excel. 
•    Personal Characteristics: An effective self-starter with an extensive background in research and presentation, who can perform independently with a clear, precise, and compelling writing skills. 
•    Demonstrated ability to write successful proposals. Capability to negotiate with and influence others.
•    Knowledge of industry/education partnerships, community projects for youth, school district programs, and any special projects that relate to education.
•    Must furnish own transportation as required to fulfill job duties. (Mileage will be a tax write-off allowed by Chair of Executive Board)

 

Work Environment: 
This particular position requires working indoors, making presentations to various leaders, traveling to various school sites, and working in direct contact with Lhfo staff, regional and school district employees, and the public or private sector.
